Pierre DUEZ
Teaching
Pierre Duez has teaching activities in the fields of Pharmacognosy (medicinal plants), Phytochemistry, Pharmacology, Nutrition and Bibliographic Tools. These lessons are taught in the 1st cycle of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy (Bachelor cycle), for students of Medicine, Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences. He also oversees various Pharmacognosy Research projects for students enrolled in doctoral and MA2.
Research
Pierre Duez has research activities in the field of Pharmacognosy. He studies medicinal plants for their activities of DNA repair modulation, for their direct and indirect antibacterial properties (resistance reversion; modulation of quorum sensing), for antimalarial properties and for genotoxicity. He also coordinates scientific cooperation projects in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Burkina Faso. He supervises six doctoral students in these different topics.
