Amandine NACHTERGAEL
Teaching
Amandine Nachtergael is a lecturer and head of the Laboratory of Therapeutic Chemistry and Pharmacognosy. She teaches pharmacology, pharmacognosy, and phytotherapy. These courses are delivered at the Faculty of Medicine, Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences to both bachelor’s and master’s students.
Research
Her doctoral research focused on the extraction and identification of natural modulators of DNA damage signaling and repair pathways. Her current work primarily involves the phytochemical, pharmacological, and toxicological evaluation of medicinal plants, with a particular interest in those used in African traditional medicines, as part of cooperation activities that include research projects in Burkina Faso and Madagascar.
